Jon and I shot this little video of my cat Catastrophe a few weeks ago. She is much bigger now and gets into way more trouble but I just couldn't imagine life without her anymore. Thirty Update
Monday might be my new favorite day of the week! It really gets a bad rep. Today I woke up excited to start my fun and busy week.Getting Inspired:
Last week I read Kris Carr's book Crazy Sexy Diet. It is full of fascinating facts about how bodies work and how food affects your system. I tried to get into drinking green juices but found them to be quite disgusting. Does anyone have any good recipes?Kris' story from cancer patient to health guru is crazy, sexy and inspiring. She was an aspiring actress, living in NYC, when she found out that she has a rare and basically incurable form of cancer. She turned her life upside down, went back to study nutrition, made a documentary about her story and became a best-selling author of several health books. Talking about making (sugar free) lemonade out of lives lemons!
Getting Started:
Take only Memories is in a desperate need of a make-over. I've been thinking a lot about how to improve it and what will suit me and the blog the most. Trying to figure out how to represent yourself is so fascinating! If all goes according to plan, the new design should be going up in the next couple of weeks.Getting Creative:
Most of my creative time last week was devoted to editing our web series Blink. I am super excited about how it is turning out. It's taking a lot longer to finish it then anticipated (doesn't it always?!) but there is a light at the end of the editing tunnel and I can't wait to share the series with all of you!On another note, I just joined the app Vine. It's like Instagram but with Videos. So much fun! You can find me under Vanessa Locke.

ReplyDeleteFor green juices .. it's best to start with spinach vs. kale. I like to cheat a little with almond milk, a frozen banana, 1 kiwi, and a handful of spinach.
The glowing green smoothy by Kimberly Snyder is good too .. I leave out the celery though -

ReplyDeleteSo sweet! Reminds me of my little kitty when he was so small like that :-) I'm hoping to pick up a nutra-bullet sometime within the next couple weeks so I can make proper green smoothies. I usually find putting blueberries in them - along with bananas makes the taste better - but I use spinach and not kale - which is way too strong for my taste-buds. Can't wait to see the new design! I really want to give my blog a little facelift too...but where to start? Have a lovely week Vanessa!
