Live your life as if it was your last day at work!

live everday

Hey guys and gals! Friday was my last day at my dayjob! While sitting there, sipping my champagne and chatting with people I had never talked to before I suddenly had a thought (it does happen!):

Why wasn't work always this much fun?

Was it always this cool and I just didn't notice? Where were all these nice people hiding the entire time?
You all know the saying "Live your life as if today was your last day!" But what does that really mean? I am happy to say that I have absolutely no idea what it would feel like if tomorrow was my last day. But that means that this statement evokes absolutely no emotional memories. None!

We have all had many last days at different schools, jobs, even in different countries.
And isn't it always the same? On that last day something unexpected and fun happened that made you sad to leave!
The stress falls off your body, there is no more fear of doing something wrong, or accidentally offending your boss, colleagues or classmates. You can walk up to your high school bully and confront him about why he bullied you all those years. You can tell your co-worker that you've had a secret crush on him the entire time. Or you can just let your hair down and feel more relaxed and at ease with yourself and your surroundings. Nothing matters anymore because today is your last day and you will most likely never see these people again. You can finally be yourself around them.

So don't try to imagine that this is your last day on this earth in order to have some fun. Just remember the feeling you had on your last day at your last job or school. Feel that feeling and be that person now!

Have a fabulous week,
Vanessa

  4. My last day at work I felt relief. I was 36 weeks pregnant. I was just so tired, all I could think of was that I could now sit down for 4 weeks until the baby (Jarvis) was born. And that I did, I spent four weeks reading, sewing, painting, just relaxing and listening to my body and feeling my baby grow. All things I never had time to do while working full time.

  10. Hiya dear...I do indeed know that photographer...was going to show some of her work soon as well, I just have too many drafts in my blog already, haha :) But, she is quite amazing too. And to answer your question, I don't mind this comment thing, it always works for me ok. I think it's only not worked once or twice for me on someone's blog, but overall I think it works just fine :) That's why I changed the commenting thing on my blog, so I could reply to comments on there & other people could to, it makes it much nicer :) Hope your having a great day :) xx

I only ever felt relief when I finally left a school or workplace - maybe I'm simply absolutely hopeless socially. :D
