The Magical Spreepark

In the former East of Berlin there is an old, abandoned amusement park called Spreepark. It closed down in something like 2001 and has not been looked after since. Thieves cleaned it out pretty thoroughly. Everything but the big items is gone, and what is left is broken and/or grown over. In short, it's one of the most magical places I've ever seen. The only way to see the park (legally) is to take a guided tour or hop on a little tourist train for a 15 minute ride around the park. Sadly the park has now been sold and tours will only run through the end of April.

If you're in Berlin, make sure to catch the tour before it ends. It's like stepping into another world.

  1. This place is amazing!! I wish I could get there to see it before it's no more. I'm sure this was in a movie before, as it looks familiar, I'll need to remember the movie name, I can see it in my mind, but the name is lost, haha. But I love the swan picture in the water, there is something so beautiful about that one, yet slightly sad too. Gorgeous pictures doll, I hope you have a marvellous new week xx

  6. Wow, what a neat place. It's interesting that it remained a place for people to visit when it was in ruins! Great photos.

  10. Oh man!! Visiting abandoned theme parks is literally my dream (weird I know. But we only have one theme park in NZ and its pretty well looked after). There is something so magical about things left behind. Its like they leave all these moment and memories that you will never know. Hope you are doing well Vanessa :) Britney Hazeldine
